The range trading persists. More than that, the promising early foundation stage of a possible rally in the Dollar has broken down. There is good and bad about that. The bad is that I badly wanted to see Dollar gains resume. The good is… well… I’m not sure. It’s just there, hanging around. The bad thing about the good, is the horrible, haphazard and hazardous development that has been really tough to reconcile. If there is any positive about Dollar losses against the Europeans then it’s the fact they’d be correlated. I’m still not 100% convinced, but it’s now probably more than 50% in favour of the downside.

One clear development was the breakdown of the possible recycling lower in GBPUSD, which now implies further gains – which has always been the underlying direction.

Perhaps there is a positive in the potential for EURUSD to rally – and that’s the expectation of gains in EURJPY. I had a solution – which I discussed in the video outlook – but the recovery in EURUSD without make losses does tend to support the cross. It could well be that EURJPY could be the best vehicle in terms of bang for your buck. The combination of both USDJPY and EURUSD rallying could be the most profitable solution.

This also places a question mark over the Aussie. At the current moment it remains in a small range within which there are arguments on both sides of the market. Therefore, the stalemate continues but we should soon see a breakout and more directional move to come.

It’s not an easy market – retain a sense of caution.
