And the market has chosen “slow”

I had hoped for a stronger reaction following the settlement of the Greek debt discussions. It seems the market is not obliging. However, the outcome - slow as it has been – is still constructive but the lower degree development is really quite cumbersome and crotchety. Nevertheless, I’ll take ‘constructive’ and work with it although it does seem to suggest that the pace of moves will remain relatively conservative for a while at least.

Indeed, there does seem to be a risk of the development slowing over today with expectations of a swinging market but in a modestly narrow range – but still seeing minor extremes being seen. It tends to suggest that short-term jobbing may be the best approach for today but acknowledging the expected approximate limits I’ll detail in the report.

GBPUSD disappointed by dipping lower, an outcome that suggests it could slip little deeper. I don’t think this changes the underlying direction but considering the higher degree targets are already suggesting extreme projections, it does suggest some further slippage today.

One hundred and eighty degrees south, AUSUSD performed ptty well and capped in the area I advised. This should see losses but, as we have seen in the recent past, the development will likely be complicated and slow.

USDJPY made grudging gains over the day and still has more to go, but again, it’s likely to be in slow motion. With losses in EURUSD outpacing USDJPY, that has led to losses in EURJPY and suggests more of the same. The only issue to be aware of in the cross is the potential for a consolidation before further losses can be seen…
